HUSQVARNA:  COMMITED TO THEIR ROOTS, COMMITED TO THE WOODS, COMMITED TO MOTORCYCLING.

THE HUSQVARNA '2016 SMILES...

IT WAS A PLEASURE TO COUNT ON HUSQVARNA FOR THE FMSQ ENDUROCROSS SEASON 2016, WHAT WERE THE HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE COMPANY THIS YEAR?
We were proud to sponsor the FMSQ series, and we plan to continue to show our support into 2017. The inclusive and welcoming nature of the FMSQ made it easy for Husqvarna Motorcycles to connect with the group and there is nothing better than seeing families out having a good time on motorcycles together whether it is at a race or at a ride day. The FMSQ helps to create these types of opportunities for riders so we have a lot of respect and admiration for the organization for doing this. We want to encourage people to find the joy in motorcycling, so the highlights of 2016 are reflected in the smiles of the riders who we were able to support in their chosen discipline. Some of the get-togethers that created new smiles for 2016 were:

1. The Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame – Title Sponsorship by Husqvarna: We love paying homage to the heritage of the Canadian motorcycle community and this black tie affair is a great venue for all members of the motorcycle public.
2. The Secret Santa “Paying it forward” campaign: It happened, but if we told you more about it, it wouldn’t be a secret!
3. The “Checkpoints” film pre-screening party in Ottawa: Husqvarna motorcycles was proud to support the making of “Checkpoints” a lifestyle oriented film created by Motojournalism and Traction E Rag featuring the talent of Graham Jarvis and Colton Haaker while they took to the trails in Ontario.
4. Husqvarna Motorcycles Ice social: An opportunity for some brave members of the media accompanied by first time riders and independent artists to come together and try riding on GRIP STUDS during the Quebec deep freeze (made on the spot gourmet coffee from Les Cafetiers and bonfire included of course!)
5. The Tyler Medaglia Program: We love Tyler’s family values, his open-minded and positive attitude, and his pioneering spirit. Bonus – he happens to haul ass on a bike! We supported Tyler’s racing efforts the past two years by allowing him to design a unique race program that allowed him to be flexible to try different disciplines of motorcycling, cycling, and get enough family time in between.
6. The Montreal Supercross: Husqvarna Motorcycles provided tickets to local media and some new faces to the motorcycling community
7. The Husqvarna Contingency program: Husqvarna brought smiles to the faces of many racers throughout the country by offering a contingency program that included offroad and mx series Canada wide.
8. Husqvarna Motorcycles Ambassador support: You don’t have to be a serious racer – most of Husqvarna Motorcycles supported ambassadors originated from other sports such as mountain biking, cycling, surfing, hiking, snowboarding, photography, and street biking. These ambassadors make the most out of the lifestyle that riding a motorcycle brings and have a passion for style, the outdoors, and all around good times.
9. The Grand Prix de Mud – Title sponsor Husqvarna Motorcycles: This is a social ride day that fosters a very inclusive atmosphere and therefore attracts people from all walks of life to come and enjoy a weekend full of motorcycles, good people and good times.
10. The Ladies Limerick Ride & Social: In August Husqvarna Motorcycles teamed up with the local Motorcycle Association near the Limerick Forest (The Bytown Motorcycle Club) to host the first ever ladies day. What is shaping up to be an annual event offered free ice cream built on-demand by Monsieur Wilson’s Gourmet Ice-cream, a ridiculous amount of prizes, demo bikes, tunes, bbq eats and guided trail rides. The event was open to all members of the public regardless of what they rode or if they rode a motorcycle. Husqvarna Dealers were on-site to answer questions about the bikes, and riding organizations such as the FMSQ, the FQMHR, and OFTR were all present to help promote the women’s motorcycling movement & responsible riding.

These are just some of the events that brought smiles to the faces of our fellow motorcyclists in 2016, and the memories that they created are our highlights.

 TYLER

TYLER MEDAGLIA REPRESENTED OUR COUNTRY AT THE MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS FOR THE FIFTH TIME THIS YEAR. IS IT A SOURCE OF PRIDE TO HAVE AN AMBASSADOR SUCH AS TYLER MEDAGLIA WHO IS THE IMAGE OF PERSEVERANCE AND GREAT ACHIEVEMENTS AS WELL AS A FANTASTIC DAD OF TWO?
Tyler is not only an impressive rider, he is an inspiration to all of us and a constant reminder that winning is great, but the reason we ride is for fun and to enjoy life to the fullest on and off the bike. He embodies every one of the Husqvarna Motorcycles values within his own family values making him an extremely natural fit as a Husqvarna Motorcycles ambassador. Tyler is one of Canada’s top MX riders and we are incredibly proud that he has chosen to represent our country on a Husqvarna Motorcycle. Husqvarna Motorcycles will continue to support Tyler with all of his racing and non-racing aspirations now and into the future.

THE HUSQVARNA PARTNERSHIP WITH TYLER MEDAGLIA HAS ALSO ALLOWED HIM TO EXPLORE SOME GNCC RACING. TYLER RACED WITH HIS 450 WITH MOTOCROSS SUSPENSION (LAUGHS) AND FINISHED FIFTH! I LIKE HOW HUSQVARNA STAYS CLOSE TO ITS ROOTS. IS IT LOYALTY TO THE NATURE, LOYALTY TO THE WOODS (LAUGHS)?
Husqvarna Motorcycles has a long heritage of not only offroad racing, but road racing as well so we think it’s fitting that Tyler is a man of many talents and can adapt to any situation on the motorcycle. Part of living the Husqvarna Promise “Pioneering Since 1903” is not being afraid to go out and try new things and Tyler is a pro at this! Tyler enjoys a wide range of sports and activities, and this is part of what makes him so approachable and relatable to most of us who aren’t pro racers. We wouldn’t be surprised to see Tyler cruising to his families bakery and skate/tattoo shop on one of Husqvarna’s new street motorcycles in the future!

TYLERMEDAG

TYLER MEDAGLIA SAYS THAT HE ENJOYS RIDING THE 350 THE MOST OF ANY BIKE THAT HE HAS RIDDEN. WHICH ONE OF YOUR BIKES HAVE YOU HAD THE MOST POSITIVE COMMENTS ON FROM YOUR AMATEUR AND PRO CLIENTS THIS YEAR?
The FC350 is definitely one of our more popular motocross bikes because it offers a nice compromise between the 250 and 450 four stroke models, but never underestimate the die-hard two stroke fan! Those guys are crazy and we love it! In the offroad world the TE250 is very popular in areas where the trails are tight and technical. The 2017 TE150 will likely be very popular in these areas as well. In areas where the trails are less technical the TE300 and the four-stroke FE models fit well. I’ve always been a TE250 fan, but after riding the FE350 dual sport this year and seeing how offroad capable it was, I’m considering switching the TE250 for an FE350 dual sport that I can ride on and off the road. Is it okay to enter an FMSQ race with blinkers and mirrors (laughs).

MARCANDREBEAUDOIN2016

IN QUEBEC, YOU HAVE THE PRO RIDER MARC-ANDRÉ BEAUDOIN WHO FINISHED SOLID IN THE COMPETITION THIS YEAR. HE DID NOT HAVE A GOOD START BUT HE SHOWED THAT HE WOULD NEVER LET GO AND FINISHED SECOND JUST BEHIND FRANCIS OUIMETTE AT OUR LAST RACE IN FERME-NEUVE IN HARD CLIMATIC CONDITIONS. DOES THIS REPRESENT THE HUSQVARNA VALUES AT THEIR BEST?
Marc Andre is a great fit with the Husqvarna Motorcycles brand because he is friendly and welcoming to everyone he meets, is sportsmanlike, and is always willing to help other riders. He tries his absolute best while out on the trail regardless of the circumstances, he has the heart of a champion. Of course we would love to see Marc on the top step of the podium but a great racer is made up of more than 1st place trophies, it is his character, his kindness, and his spirit that truly speak volumes about who he is. The Husqvarna Motorcycles rider is someone that may be capable to taking the podium, but would give it away to stop and help a rider in need on the trailside. Marc continues to make Husqvarna Motorcycles proud and we enjoy having him in the family.

WE SAW YOUR PARTNER BRUCE WILLIS AT FRANKLIN FOR A ''COURSE AMICALE'' IN FRANKLIN AND YOURSELF VICTORIA HETT AT LIMERICK FOREST, ON. TO HOLD AN EVENT THAT EVERYBODY WANTS TO SEE BACK NEXT YEAR (NOT ONLY FOR MISTER WILSON LAUGHS!). THE IMPLICATION OF THE FRIENDLY AND VERY PROFESSIONNAL TEAM IS SEEN ON THE TERRAIN HERE AND THERE. IS IT IMPORTANT FOR HUSQVARNA TO BE PART OF THE SCENE AND TO BE IN RELATION DIRECTLY WITH AMATEURS AND PRO RIDERS? Husqvarna Motorcycles is a company made up of riders, so we enjoy getting out there and throwing down with everyone as much as possible, and there is no doubt that the infamous Bruce Willis can do just that! The social aspect of riding and racing and the amazing people you meet is just as much of a draw as the riding itself, so I think you will find that everyone involved in the Husqvarna Brand not only within our small Canadian team, but in our larger global team takes every opportunity possible to head out on two wheels whether it’s in the dirt or on the street.

BRUCEWILLIS2016

ANY SCOOPS YOU WANT TO SHARE WITH US FOR 2017-2018?
We are very excited to be launching our 2017 mini-cycle models, and a new competition offroad model range comprised TX (two-stroke cross country) and FX (four-stroke cross country). These bikes will shine in the competitive off-road world and would be very well suited to the FMSQ series.

Some events happening this winter that are worth putting on the radar are:

*Snowpunks – watch for this event coming up, good vibe central!

*The Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame – The Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame banquet is taking place in Montreal this year and coincides with The Motorcycle Show weekend. It’s a breath of fresh air, it supports the preservation of motorcycle heritage in Canada and pays respect to our countries motorcycle legends. Dress to impress and enjoy the good food and good company!

Thank you so much for all of the hard work the FMSQ does to elevate our sport and the motorcycle industry in whole. The professionalism and dedication is admirable and we feel very grateful to be able to support the series.

THANK YOU VICTORIA HETT, BRUCE WILLIS!

THANK YOU HUSQVARNA TO BE PART OF IT!
