Your Role:

🎙 Host race days, from start lines to podiums
🎤 Interview riders to bring their emotions to the spectators

🌍 Travel across Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes to host each race

Join a dynamic and passionate team, host live events, and experience the action at the heart of the races, on the most exciting competition sites in Eastern Canada. This position will also allow you to meet new people, discover incredible regions across Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes, while becoming the voice of the FMSQ National Championship.

 

SUMMARY

The FMSQ is looking for an Event Host for the 2025 season. Reporting directly to the Race and Event Director, the selected candidate will be responsible for live event hosting, engaging with the audience, motivating racers, and creating an electrifying atmosphere throughout competition days. This role is perfect for an energetic, dynamic person who is comfortable speaking in public and wants to experience the races from the inside while hosting the biggest cross-country championship in Canada.

 

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Host race days live on the mic

  • Present podium ceremonies and award distributions

  • Interview riders before and after their races

  • Create an exciting atmosphere for the audience, racers, and teams

  • Communicate in both French and English to engage the entire FMSQ community

  • Travel to race sites and adapt to each environment

  • Work outdoors, rain or shine – energy always comes first!

 

REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for a charismatic, energetic individual who is comfortable speaking on a microphone. This role demands confidence, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

 

Technical Skills:

  • Experience in event hosting, radio, podcasting, or communication (a plus but not mandatory)

  • Strong ability to improvise and capture an audience’s attention

  • Fluent in both French and English

  • Comfortable with public speaking and managing event flow

Professional Qualities:

  • Positive energy, enthusiasm, and confidence on the mic

  • Ability to handle pressure and improvise

  • Team player with professionalism

  • Good judgment and adaptability to outdoor environments

 

JOB DETAILS

  • Salary: Rate to be discussed based on experience

  • Schedule: Saturday (8:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and Sunday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

  • Employment Period: Weekends of the 8 FMSQ events in 2025

  • Travel: Required for all 8 events across Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes
