Your Role:

WHY WORK FOR THE FMSQ?

This position will also allow you to meet new people, explore incredible regions across Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes, all while directly contributing to rider safety and the smooth running of the FMSQ National Championship.

 

SUMMARY

The FMSQ is looking for two race patrollers for the 2025 season. Reporting directly to the Race and Event Director, the selected candidates will be responsible for patrolling race tracks, assisting riders in difficulty, and ensuring safety on the course. This role is perfect for someone passionate about dirt bikes, who enjoys being in the field, facing physical challenges, and playing a key role in race success.

 

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patrol race tracks before, during, and after races to detect hazards and identify problem areas

  • Assist riders in difficulty (crashes, mechanical failures, etc.)

  • Ensure the course remains safe throughout the event

  • Work closely with the Race and Event Director and the event operations team

  • Participate in track safety inspections with the Race and Event Director

  • Close the track after each race (Sweeper role)

  • Apply safety protocols in case of an incident (alerting medics, managing track traffic, etc.)

  • Contribute to the professional and friendly atmosphere that defines the FMSQ

 

REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for autonomous, resourceful individuals who are comfortable on an off-road motorcycle and have a strong ability to adapt. This role requires good physical condition, excellent stress management skills, and a strong interest in motorsports.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

 

Technical Skills:

  • Experience in off-road riding (motocross, enduro, or similar)

  • Basic knowledge of motorcycle mechanics (an asset)

  • Strong understanding of safety rules on a race track

  • Good physical condition

  • Valid driver’s license (a major asset for travel)

  • Bilingualism (French/English spoken) is an asset

Professional Qualities:

  • Resourcefulness, autonomy, and team spirit

  • Professionalism and good judgment

  • Strong communication skills with riders, volunteers, and event staff

  • Ability to remain calm and react quickly in emergency situations

 

JOB DETAILS

  • Salary: $20/hour (rate to be discussed based on experience)

  • Equipment Provided: Dirt bike and full gear (helmet, boots, jersey, pants, goggles)

  • Schedule: Saturday (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) and Sunday (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM)

  • Employment Period: Weekends of the 8 FMSQ events in 2025

  • Travel: Required for all 8 events across Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes
